Dockside Festival

Festival branding promoting Sport. Community. & Culture.

A brand designed on history, heritage and legacy

A new visual brand identity was needed for a 3 day festival based in cultural and iconic hub of Port Adelaide. A unique festival which was going to incorporate sport, community and culture. The brand needed to represent Port Adelaide while being an enticing and exciting event for the local community.
What we did

– Brand Strategy and naming

– Brand Creation

– Brand Guidelines

– Marketing Collateral

– Brochure Design

– Social Media Design

In-depth research and a brand discovery session working with the City of Port Adelaide and Enfield Council and Tiny Fish Events led us to understand the richness of Port Adelaide, its history, character, authenticity and its people – the community as a whole. Like so many vibrant shipping port cities around the world, it’s a natural meeting point and gateway to discovery that has grown into an epicentre of community and cultural activity.

BRAND DISCOVERY

DBD created a brand that was uniquely Port Adelaide. – What you see is what you get. Rusted on. Stoic. Historic. Iconic. For the People.

The brand DBD created celebrated edge, texture and grit with a focus around the iconic Port Adelaide Lighthouse and especially Diamond Square, the heart of Dockside Festival’s activities. While the Dockside logo set has been design for adaptability, keeping thing fresh and open, being fluid across many applications. While the brand device has been designed with simplicity, purpose and practicability heroing "the activity" - which sits in the diamond, which connects back to "Diamond Square" - the heart of Port and the Dockside Festival.
